According to an official announcement, this initiative, as outlined in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2360/24 issued on November 27, 2023, introduces a more streamlined approach with updated criteria, fees, and validity periods for visas in Sri Lanka.
In collaboration with IVS Global Institute and GBS Technology Service, the department is introducing the e-visa system, which replaces the current Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) method. This transition is geared towards improving efficiency and convenience for travelers.
