Tour Itinerary
After collecting your luggage and leaving the airport, make your way to your accommodation in Oslo city centre. You could opt to take a taxi or use public transport, but for a more direct and comfortable ride, we could arrange a private airport transfer for you.
If you arrive early in the day, spend the afternoon walking through the city. You could stroll along the Karl Johans gate main street, along the Aker Brygge marina and past the beautiful Oslo Opera House.
Spend the night in Oslo.
You have a whole day to explore Oslo at your leisure. Depending on your interests, there are plenty of activities and attractions to enjoy in this dynamic city.
You could choose to visit the beautiful Vigeland Sculpture Park, tour the Royal Palace, explore the Akershus fortress or view Oslo City Hall. See the sights at your own pace or join an optional bus tour.
Other attractions include the Fram Museum, displaying a world-famous polar exploration ship, and the extensive collection of works by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch at the Munch Museum.
Spend another night in Oslo.
Get an early start and head to Oslo Central Station to begin the Norway in a Nutshell® railway journey. Your destination is Bergen, with an overnight stop in Flåm. This train ride takes you over the mountains and through charming villages like Gol and Geilo.
In Myrdal, switch trains to the Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana) for an incredible ride to the beautiful village.
Spend the night in Flåm.
Spend the day exploring the beauty of Flåm and its surroundings.
Visit the Flåm Railway & Documentation Centre to learn about the construction of this iconic railway line. Located in the old train station, you'll be able to view the line's history through pictures, texts, original objects and videos.
You could also visit the Stegastein Viewing Platform. This viewpoint extends about 30 metres (98 feet) out from the cliffside and 650 metres (2,133 feet) above the fjords, offering extraordinary and unbeatable views. And if you want to explore the fjords even further, you could join a fjord safari or kayaking tour.
Spend another night in Flåm.
This morning, you’ll board a boat to sail through Aurlandsfjord into the World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in all of Europe.
This is perhaps the most beautiful arm of Sognefjord, with its mighty waterfalls and small farms clinging to the steep mountainsides.
The boat docks in Gudvangen, from where you’ll be transported by bus to Voss to board the train for the last stretch of the journey to Bergen.
Spend the night in Bergen.
Today you have a full day to explore beautiful Bergen!
Take a stroll through Bryggen, a city quarter that is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, with remarkably preserved, colourful houses. The bustling district is also home to some incredible eateries serving delicious food.
Next, you could enjoy a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular to the peak of Mount Fløyen. You'll find several winding hiking trails at the summit, which will lead you across to surrounding mountains. Another option for panoramic views over the city is to take the cable car even higher to the top of Mount Ulriken!
For a dose of culture, why not visit a museum? Top picks include Troldhaugen, dedicated to composer Edvard Grieg, and KODE, Scandinavia’s largest museum of art and design.
Spend another night in Bergen.
It’s time to say goodbye to Norway! If your flight is in the afternoon, you could spend a few last hours shopping for souvenirs or visiting one of Bergen’s museums.
When it’s time to head to the airport, take the bus from Bergen city centre or call a taxi. Alternatively, we would be happy to arrange a private airport transfer for you.
