Tour Itinerary

After collecting your luggage and leaving the airport, make your way to your accommodation in Oslo city centre. You could opt to take a taxi or use public transport, but for a more direct and comfortable ride, we can arrange a private airport transfer for you.

If you arrive early in the day, spend the afternoon walking through the city. You could stroll along the Karl Johans gate main street, along the Aker Brygge marina and past the beautiful Oslo Opera House.

Other attractions include the Fram Museum, displaying a world-famous polar exploration ship, and the extensive collection of works by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch at the Munch Museum.

Spend the night in Oslo.

Get an early start and head to Oslo Central Station, where you’ll begin the Norway in a Nutshell® railway journey towards Bergen, with an overnight stop in Flåm. This train ride takes you over Norway’s “mountainous rooftops”, through charming villages like Gol and Geilo.

In Myrdal, you’ll switch trains to the famous Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana) for an incredible ride to the beautiful village of Flåm.

Enjoy a relaxing day in Flåm, where you can follow one of the many hiking trails in the mountains around the village, or participate in an optional activity, such as kayaking, fjord sightseeing or visiting the Stegastein platform.

Spend the night in Flåm.

We recommend booking our luggage transfer for the travel between Oslo and Bergen.

This morning, you’ll board a boat to sail through Aurlandsfjord into the World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in all of Europe.

This is perhaps the most beautiful arm of Sognefjord, with its mighty waterfalls and small farms clinging to the steep mountainsides.

The boat docks in Gudvangen, from where you’ll be transported by bus to Voss to board the train for the last stretch of the journey to Bergen.

Spend the night in Bergen.

After breakfast, head out to explore some more of Bergen.

You could take a stroll through Bryggen, a city quarter that is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, with remarkably preserved, colourful houses. Or you could enjoy a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular to the peak of Mount Fløyen. You'll find several winding hiking trails at the summit, which will lead you across to surrounding mountains.

In the evening, head to the harbour to hop aboard your cruise ship. You’ll be travelling with Hurtigruten Cruises. Get settled into your cabin and prepare for an epic adventure along some of Norway’s dramatic 2,000-kilometre (1,243-mile) coastline.

After your fjord cruise sets sail, wave goodbye to Bergen and head to the dining area to enjoy a delicious meal of locally sourced Norwegian specialities.

Spend the night aboard the coastal cruise.

Enjoy a relaxing morning aboard your coastal cruise, admiring the scenery as you journey from Florø to Molde.

Take in the breathtaking beauty of the Nordfjord region, with its many fjord systems and rugged mountainsides. As the ship sails past the West Cape, you will enter the open ocean before reaching Ålesund. This port town is known for its rich culture and beautiful Art Nouveau architecture.

Depending on the time of year, you will then experience a different region of Norway. If you’re visiting between early June and late August, you’ll sail through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Geirangerfjord, with its grand waterfalls and lush green hillsides.

In other months, you’ll journey through Hjørundfjorden, a spectacular fjord tucked away in the Sunnmørsalpene mountain range.

Spend another night aboard the coastal cruise.

Early in the morning, the ship will pull into the historic city of Trondheim. You have the day to explore.

Trondheim was the original capital of Norway and was known as Nidaros until the 16th century. Spend the day discovering Trondheim, including Bakklandet, an idyllic neighbourhood full of history and culture, and the medieval Nidaros Cathedral. Other attractions include the Ringve museum and gardens, and the Old Town Bridge.

Spend the night in Trondheim.

This morning you will head out early to Trondheim Central Station to board the Dovrebanen train, departing for Oslo.

The magical 6.5-hour journey passes over the Dovre Mountain plateau, weaves through historic towns, and traverses plenty of lush greenery.

Upon arrival in Norway’s capital city, the afternoon is yours to explore to your heart’s content.

Soak up some culture at the beautiful Vigeland Sculpture Park, tour the Royal Palace, explore the Akershus fortress or view Oslo City Hall. See the sights at your own pace or join an optional bus tour.

Spend the night in Oslo.

It’s time to say goodbye to Norway! If your flight is in the afternoon, you could spend a few last hours shopping for souvenirs, visiting one of Oslo’s museums or simply strolling through the charming city centre.

When it’s time to head to the airport, take the Airport Express Train or call a taxi. Alternatively, we would be happy to arrange a private airport transfer for you.
